Mixed Berry Compote

Berry Compote Dutch Baby Breakfast Recipe by Ash's In The Kitchen

This is one of my favorite toppings for pancakes! It’s cheaper than pure maple syrup and it’s packed with vitamins and flavor! It’s also a great alternative to sugary corn syrup toppings.

¼ cup Strawberries

¼ cup Blueberries

¼ cup Fresh Raspberries

½ cup Sugar

1 teaspoon Cornstarch

1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice; cold

  1. Heat a saucepan over medium heat and add the berries and sugar. Fold gently using a spatula, making sure not to damage the berries. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice and cornstarch. Pour the slurry into the berry mixture and gently mix until thickened.
  3. Serve over waffles, pancakes or even meat!
  4. Enjoy!
